Honda Accord Tourer won red dot award

The brand new Accord Tourer by Honda took top honors on the 51st `red dot` international award for high quality in design, coming ahead of the 3,000+ proposals from about 51 countries.

The red dot award is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world held annually in Germany by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, where products with amazing quality in design from 11 categories are selected and then rewarded.

The Accord model won on the ‘Transportation’ category, this due to the innovative production, appeal plus high quality of the design concept.

Honda’s other units have won this award in the past. The Honda S2000 model - in 2001 and the Honda Civic - in 2006.

Congratulating Honda brand, Prof. Dr Peter Zec, the Initiator of the design red dot awards, affirmed “Faced with the greater number of high-quality products, our international jury of acknowledged experts this year found the task of selecting the winner to be particularly challenging. This distinction explicitly acknowledges your creativity and innovative drive, and pays tribute to the high quality standards of your product”.

The awards will obviously be distributed in some grand function, that’s scheduled to take place in Essen, Germany on June 23.
