FlexFuel engines for all 2010 Hummer models

General Motors took the opportunity to announce on Friday that by 2010 all Hummer units will have biofuel capability. This announcement took place in the same time as the Classic Chevrolet / Hummer in Dallas, TX model became the first new auto and truck dealership in America to open biofuel pumps public.

To celebrate this opening, General Motors had a 2009 H2 SUT unit on-hand at dealership, which’s E85 capable. The SUT, alongside with the regular H2, which represent only two of these 15 FlexFuel units General Motors will be offering for the 2009 unit year. First, the public saw an E85-capable Hummer vehicle in the form of this HX Concept.

The station, named Classic Clean Fuels, located near Dallas, TX, comprises nine pumps costing over a half million dollars for installing and delivering E85, E10 and biodiesel.

“We sell a lot of trucks capable of running on alternative fuels like E85, and even though there has been some increased availability, we saw a need for more E85 pumps where drivers could fill up” said Charles Martin in a statement, the general manager for Classic Chevrolet / Hummer.
