Volkswagen recalling 410,000 Passats

Volkswagen made the announcement that they will be recalling every gasoline-powered Passat model that was sold in the United States from 1999 to 2005 — about 410,000 autos. Moreover, this recall is not just for this one issue. Some Passat units recalled to Volkswagen dealerships will have now three potential defects checked.

For VW Passats equipped with the automatic transmission, the dealers will be inspecting the vehicle's firewall. Volkswagen said there is the possibility that a number of the cars' firewalls could very well be damaged near that catalytic converter, in which case any dealer would be adding more shielding.

Passat models equipped with Volkswagen's 1.8L turbo-four will now be checked for the faulty fuel line.

Lastly, Volkswagen dealers will be checking also all-wheel drive Passat vehicles damaged ventilation valves fuel tank.

Despite this plethora of the potential defects, no injuries or crushes have been linked to this recall issues.
