The word is out that this freshened 3 Series from BMW, that’s due in 2009, it would be getting the updated, improved variant of the iDrive system, this multifunction system that maddened BMW buyers in the previous incarnations, it’s been copied by other car manufacturers, and been some constant source of criticism by the automotive journalists.
Various sources, BMW Blog included, had reported a week before that the new variant of iDrive, reportedly is under testing currently, would be part of this new 3 Series.
But, BMW Blog says now that they were misinformed, or that they are now better informed at least. BMW sources told BMW Blog that there is zero chance if the brand new iDrive showing up on the facelifted 3 Series.
So instead, the all-new iDrive goes right into the 5 Series.
All you have got to do if you really want it is to spend more money.
