Volkswagen announces the Carefree Maintenance Program for the entire 2009 line-up

Volkswagen of America, Inc. made an announcement a no-charge Carefree Maintenance Program today on its entire 2009 unit line. With this program there`re no charges for a scheduled maintenance that was described in each car`s maintenance booklet for length on the New Vehicle Limited Warranty—with three years or 36,000 miles, whichever happens first. The Carefree Maintenance Program will debut with the Tiguan`s introduction, Volkswagen’s brand new crossover utility vehicle.

“Volkswagen’s Carefree Maintenance Program is a great way to improve our owner loyalty for our brand, as well as increase consumer consideration” said Mark Barnes, the Chief Operating Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “This program also differentiates us from our competition by allowing us to be the only automaker among our key competitors to offer a no-charge maintenance program” continued Barnes.

The maintenance intervals are covered under this program, detailed in each auto’s maintenance booklet are 30K, 20K, and 10K miles for all 2009 unit year Volkswagens. Since all present Volkswagens are using synthetic oil, mixed with state-of-the-art European engineering, some 5K oil change is now necessary. This means that the Volkswagen clients can drive further between the oil changes.
