Think Global selling 25k electric auto in USA

Think Global, a Norwegian carmaker plans on selling in the United States an electric auto that goes 110 miles (177 kilometers) with no charge, costing less than $25,000. The first unit will go on sale by the 2009’s end.

The car, called Think City, a two-seater with a maximum speed of around 65 mph (104 kilometer), the firm said. It runs on the sodium batteries and it’s 95 percent recyclable. It is "a mass-market vehicle," said Ray Lane of the venture capital company Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers. "Our desire is to be selling 30- to 40- to 50,000 of these cars in a couple of years."

A few testing car will be brought in coming months to the U.S.
TH!NK city demands small things from you. In fact, not more than your mobile phone. Just some overnight power top-up, and it is ready to go on the morning. It can go up to 200 kilometers (124 miles) on city driving with a fully charged battery, with a maximum speed of 100km/h. It’s fun, simple and clean.
