Highest Ratings on NHTSA NCAP Crash for the 2009 Forester

Subaru announced that the Subaru Forester 2009 earned the highest rating on the U.S. Department of NHTSA (Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests. The Subaru Forester model received five stars on both the frontal plus side-impact crash tests for all the seating positions.

"Subaru customers have come to expect the highest level of safety in their vehicles," said Thomas J. Doll, the Executive Vice President of Subaru of America, Inc. "The Subaru Forester continues to deliver the highest levels of occupant safety as evidenced by its recent five star performance in the NHTSA NCAP tests."

New for 2009, all the Subaru Forester units feature basic side-curtain airbags having a rollover sensor, VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) stability plus traction control system and Brake Assist safety system. The roll-over sensor is activating seatbelt pre-tensioners and side-curtain air bags.
