Hyundai Genesis has 700 preorders

It seems that Genesis luxury sedan is a true success in the US: dealers presold 700 models and more than 20,000 buyers have expressed an interest in the auto. Maybe this is the reason Hyundai will be pending $80 million on some marketing campaign for the new Genesis — it's by far the most the carmaker has spent for launching a vehicle in the U.S.

Hyundai expects now to sell only around 30,000 models of the rear-drive Genesis every year in the U.S. But the executives think this auto, which will cost between $30,000 and $40,000 plus offered having both V-8 and V-6 engines, will be helping drawing buyers to Hyundai dealerships.

"Genesis will help sell all Hyundai vehicles," affirmed Joel Ewanick, the vice president of marketing at Hyundai Motor America.

"This car will allow us to reach new customers and talk up quality like we never have," Ewanick continued. "They’ve given us enough resources, and we will spend the money over a short period of time — over the summer. We have to make every cent count. We will be talking to a broad audience to use this as a brand lift."
