2010 Chevrolet Cruze photo leak unveils Cobalt successor ahead debut

GM has yet to reveal the brand new Chevrolet Cruze — Chevy Cobalt model replacement — but 1 shot of the Cruze leaked online before its debut in October. General Motors revealed the image actually to the press on an event this week earlier. The Cruze unit will take the styling cues right from the all new Malibu, plus promises a much sharper look than the present Cobalt.

The auto will reach the market in Europe in 2009 - spring, having U.S. production on the Lordstown factory — where Cobalt is now build — starting in June 2010. Cruze will be replace the Cobalt unit, but GM will make both cars for a short period together.

Chevrolet will offer also another variant for the markets outside America, known as Optra. In addition, there will be up to 15 cars for the global markets of GM based on this all-new “Global Delta” architecture.
