Chevrolet Camaro 2010 lapping Nurburgring in 820

GM has officially unveiled the Chevrolet Camaro 2010. Although specs and images leaked on this modern day muscle auto last week, now we have the official numbers right from the source.

The Camaro, as expected, will be available on LS, SS and LT guises. The LT and LS units will have a V6 3.6L – mated to a six-speed automatic or a manual transmission – plus it will make 300 horsepower with 273 lb-ft of torque. So, despite having a lot more power than those V6 variants of the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang, the V6-powered autos will be returning on the highway 26 mpg.

Both the LT and LS units will ride on the FE2 suspension of GM.
The top-level SS model will be highly motivated by a V8 6.2L. When is coupled with six-speed automatic transmission, this SS model will be great for 400 horsepower plus torque of 395 lb-ft, while opting for manual gearbox this will net some additional 22 horsepower, at a total of 422 horsepower, 408 lb-ft of torque. This V8 powered vehicle will return on the highway approximately 23 mpg.
