Nissan X-Trail FCV setting a record in Nurburgring

There`s a new, special star between the performers - Porsche 911 Carrera, Renault Megane R26.R, Corvette ZR1, on the circuit in Nurburgring. For the first time in making a record in the popular race, the X-Trail FCV by Nissan finished in 11.58 minutes the 20.8km course.

The X-Trail Fuel Cell Vehicle, really the fastest auto of its type, is getting power by own made electricity onboard, on a fuel cell stack with hydrogen. This auto reaches 150km/h with a 500 km range, the top output being a 120PS plus a 280Nm torque.

“I was very surprised at just how comfortable it is to drive a fuel cell car. You get in, turn the key and off you go, just like with a normal car. Although some of the uphill sections were challenging, the speed was still very impressive.” said Frank Eickholt, a member of Nissan
24 Hours Nürburgring racing team.
