Porsche is No.1 at Pebble Beach Concours d`Elegance 2008

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance - the ultimate auto show. And for a real enthusiast that has a vehicle on the lawn in Pebble beach now can rank even higher, beating up the birth of any child. So, to be one of these rare winners it may the greatest moment in life for an enthusiast. The showcase has been reserved traditionally for auto time capsules, restored to good condition like they were for real factory fresh. But intruding now on this auto aristocracy are on unrestored riffraff.

It was the very first car made under this name – Porsche (as the unit name would suggest) plus it will be present at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this August.

No. 1 has ties to the whole Porsche bloodline obviously. From the 356 model to today’s one - 911, showing that Porsche’s autos never modified; they only evolved.

"Our preservation classes cover a wide range of cars – from the untouched, long-hidden finds to much-loved automobiles that have been used, well maintained (but not restored) and passed down through many generations of owners," affirms Sandra Kasky Button, the Pebble Beach Concours Chairman. "Everyone talks about the untouched barn find and bemoans the fact that they’re increasingly rare. To be truly preserved for a long period of time, though, cars require lots of care. So over time, I think everybody’s preference will swing toward lovingly preserved cars."
