Volkswagen revealed the official details about the Golf VI 2009. Sales will start in October costing around 16,500 Euros (at German prices). The Golf VI 2009 will have at the launch two TDI 2.0 liter engines; output of 110 hp, 140 hp. The strong entry-level diesel of 110 hp is satisfied having 4.5 liters of fuel (meaning 119 g/km CO2) for 100 kilometers â€“ representing a 0.6 liter reduction!
There will be four gasoline variants also with output of 80 hp, 102 hp, 122 hp, 160 hp. Engines will have either a 7-speed or 6-speed DSG transmission.
"This sixth generation of Golf cars will completely redefine the quality and comfort level of its class over broad categories, offering more customer value than ever before", says Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, the Chairman of the Board at Volkswagen AG.
"We have cast the Golfâ€™s core components in a precise, new mold", says Walter de Silva. Plus the Italian design chief at the German corporation comments this: "The Golf is the global icon car making. So the architecture and graphic form of new model are also absolutely clear and unique." De Silva: "It is more accentuated, more three-dimensional than its predecessor; with precisely defined lines and edges, and with finely proportioned flared surfaces and recesses." And Klaus Bischoff, the Chief Designer for Volkswagen adds: "Every detail is uncompromisingly aimed at improving value."
