145,000 new SL-Class models sold

Large sports autos seem to be finding a market after all. Although debuted this year at the beginning, the SL-Class 2009 is a success already for Mercedes. The redesigned 5th generation of this SL-Class model has sold 145,000 cars. The SL demand is high in America, where half of the SL-Class roadster units are sold. This SL 500 is the most popular model by far among clients who choose the SLs.

Mercedes-Benz has a good start on the “convertible season” having its updated vehicles. Since spring this year, the all-new generation of SL-Class has been promoting on the brand name’s unparalleled tradition of sports car, which started in 1954 presenting the legendary 300 SL “gull-wing”. The latest – plus now the 5th - generation of SL-Class has been chosen until now by 145,000 buyers.

In 2008 July Mercedes-Benz delivered also the 125,000th all-new CLK-Class convertible to a client. Since the 2002 market introduction of the CLK, over 700,000 coupes and convertibles units have been bought by buyers worldwide. So, the most important CLK markets are Germany and United States, plus the CLK 350 model is the favorite one of the CLK drivers in the world.
