Cadillac SRX 2010 at Pebble Beach

Cadillac is showing off for the first time the 2010 SRX at Pebble Beach. The design for this new crossover`s strongly based on that Provoq concept auto going earlier in 2008 around the vehicle show circuit. GM will unveil full details of the auto later current year.

The new SRX's expected to be switching to General Motors’s Theta platform, making it with smaller wheelbase than the present SRX. This switch would means also that in the form of 2-wheel drive, the power will go on the front wheels now (all-wheel drive variant should be optional). The SRX is now an important auto for GM as it's a smaller, more fuel-efficient alternative to Cadillac’s SUV, the Escalade.

The next-generation SRX is the result of the continued exploration and refining of Cadillac design language, with the goal of creating dramatic presence in the luxury crossover space,” says Clay Dean, the Cadillac design director.

“The next-generation SRX, along with the new CTS Sport Wagon, showcases Cadillac taking its dramatic design into new directions, particularly cars and crossovers that are the right size at the right time for today’s luxury consumers,” said Jim Taylor, the Cadillac general manager.
