New 911 by Porsche needs a successful debut in North America

Porsche is the kind of firm that is touting always its performance numbers, but it seems the German firm is selling now fuel economy. Huge fuel costs motivated Porsche on trying to get up the rumor about that direct injection engine on the all-new 911. The new attitude by Porsche makes sense if we consider that the sales are now off in North America by 45% compared to previous year.

But Porsche hasn't gone soft. On the same release of the press, Porsche featured double-clutch transmission which will be debuted later on, this month. Coming in October also will be the 4-wheel drive variant of the 911 Carrera model, the Targa too.

Reviewing the month there were 832 deliveries of Cayenne range in total in Canada and the USA, which is 9% less than on exactly the same month of last year. 318 autos from the Boxster area were sold on August (with a drop of 66 %). Of this numbers, a sum of 130 unit were either the Cayman S or Cayman.
