 Audi announced the U.S. specifications for the A3 2009that will be on sale 2008 third quarter as a 2009 unit year auto. The German import will be continuing to compete on the now-popular luxury small car market, including with models like Volvo C30, S40, BMW 1-series, Mini Cooper/Cooper S.
The 2.0 TFSI unit will be offered having all-wheel drive system mixed with double clutch S tronic transmission. The engine produces 200 hp, 207 lb-ft torque. The V6 3.2 engine having all-wheel drive quattro permanent with S tronic produces 250 hp, 236 lb-ft; with 0-60 mph - 5.9 seconds (S tronic); city/hwy 18/25.
As standard the A3 has: hill-hold assist – standard now on 2.0T manual (it's already basic on S tronic units); Sirius satellite radio – basic now on all; Leather seating surfaces - standard now on all; Flexmetallic interior trim – is replacing Matte inside trim on 2.0; Now standard - leather steering wheel; Aux audio input – basic on all; Ashtray / Smoker pkg – it's deleted on all (replaced by storage tray); 3.2 only: Bluetooth Standard, Bi-xenon headlamps having LED DRL, plus Open Sky; 3.2 only: It's no longer basic Symphony, Sport Seats, Sport Suspension.
