Mercedes Gullwing SLC spied

Mercedes will reveal the iconic Gullwing SL300 successor at the Geneva Auto Show in 2010 with sales beginning later in 2008. The upcoming Gullwing model will be placed right between Dodge Viper and Mercedes SLR. The auto will be limited to about 6000 vehicles worldwide per year.

The latest spy shots unveil the production-ready maximum-hinged doors, that are verifiable by pair of black riveted panels at either side on the roof, covering the hinges.

The forthcoming unit is known internally as the C197 unit using an AMG badge featuring an one of a kind moniker aimed to present it as some standalone, flagship auto.

Mercedes will be placing under the hood a V8 turbocharged or V10 naturally aspirated engine, with an output between 550bhp - 650bhp. This engine model will be fitted to a automatic 7-Tronic gearbox.
