Honda reveals the 2009 Insight Concept

Honda officially revealed the concept variant of its future 2010 Insight hybrid at the Paris Motor Show. Though is was labeled as a concept, this show auto previews very strongly the upcoming bargain-cost of Prius fighter by Honda tat will be debuted officially this fall.

“The original Honda Insight pioneered hybrid technology in the U.S. and remains a symbol of Honda’s commitment to innovative technology and fuel efficiency,” said Takeo Fukui, the Honda CEO. “This new Insight will break new ground as an affordable hybrid within the reach of customers who want great fuel economy and great value.”

Priced right below Honda Civic, the Japanese-made hybrid will be carrying over much of this hatchback style from FCX. On the inside, Insight looks similar to Prius having a large space and flat floor, as well as the futuristic dashboard.

This brand new Insight will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and likely will be in the North American dealerships in late 2010 spring.

Honda hopes on making 200,000 models annually, having half of the production sold in the US.
