Ford Shelby 2010 GT500 Mustang revealed

After the Ford Mustang 2010`s introduction at the Auto Show in November, in LA, Ford officially unveiled recently the more potent GT500 Shelby edition, before the expected revealing next month at the auto show in Detroit. Powered by a V8 5.4-liter 540 horsepower, this new Shelby model is stronger than the predecessor with 40 horses.

So, Ford affirms its SVT (Special Vehicle Team) department carried over ll the winning made having the Shelby GT500KR special edition to the more largely build Shelby unit. The all-new GT500 gains also the GT500KR’s amazing 510 pound-feet torque.

“Working together on the KR, the Ford and Shelby teams developed new systems to continually improve the iconic Mustang,” said Amy Boylan, Shelby Automobiles president.

“Those lessons learned are incorporated into the 2010 Shelby GT500. This approach will help maintain Mustang’s leadership position at the front of the pack and make the ownership experience even more enjoyable.”

“The muscle car segment is becoming even more competitive,” affirmed Jamal Hameedi, the SVT's chief nameplate engineer. “We need to uphold the Mustang badge with honor, the Shelby badge with honor and most importantly the Ford badge with honor. The 2010 GT500 is the car that will do all of that.”
