Audi R15 TDI debuts on March 21

Audi will replace the 3-peat Le Mans winner R10 TDI having a brand new oil burner. This diesel racer R15 TDI will be make its introduction on 21st of March at Sebring, Florida, at the 12-hour race.

Sebring is quite an important race, but it's also the 24 Hours of Le Mans test run, in June - endurance race. Audi's the dominant, powerful force at Le Mans. Plus it’s taken place on the podium every year starting 2000 (the Bentley Speed 8 is using a lot of technology from Audi including that engine) so R15 TDI is strong auto to the German carmaker.

All Audi says about R15 is that this: it has lots of technically new detail solutions differing significantly from the predecessor. 'So far the R15 TDI has performed as we expected' explains Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport. 'Now it must also prove itself in race conditions. Sebring is a particularly hard race and is therefore perfectly suited to reveal even the smallest of weaknesses'.
