Ferrari 250 TR 1957 - the most expensive auto in the world

The 4.45 million Dollars paid for the classic Bugatti model was fabulous. But take a look at this classic Ferrari beauty. This Ferrari 250 TR 1957 will be on auction in Italy this spring, and it is expected to exceed the 10,756,000 Dollars record set in May by a Ferrari 250 GT SWB 1961 California Spyder auto.

Only twenty-two total 250 TR units were made in a 2 year period. This model spent its career in racing in the Americas on the Brazil tracks, in Cuba, Portugal, but this is the car that led Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien to a great victory in 1958, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. So the desirability of this automobile is quite understandable.

'This legendary 250 TR is one of the most exciting motor cars ever to be presented in auction history' said Max Girardo, the Managing Director of RM in Europe. This event will be taking place on May 17, this year, in Maranello, Italy. 'The Ferrari Leggenda e Passione event, now in its third year, is firmly established as the place to sell important road and race going Ferraris, and we are delighted to present this stunning 250 TR at its Maranello birthplace' he continued.
