Ford presents us its amazing Fiesta Zetec-S Mountune

Ford will bring the new small Fiesta to America. But some of you may think that there's little to be celebrating, considering Zetec S - the hottest variant has an engine of 1.6-liter that makes only 118 hp. Ford may be working already on it because although they decided not to build an ST variant of the small auto, this allows tuner Mountune upgrading the Fiesta in Europe with the blessing of the manufacturer.

Mountune adds 20 hp with high-flow induction air system, featuring high performance exhaust (tubular manifold and high-flow catalyst), and engine re-calibration. The zero to sixty time - from 9.9 seconds up to 7.9 - more respectable. The extra power at a decent cost: £1,299 (around 1,800 Dollars) before installation, but its warranty is not really affected, unlike some tuner pieces.

The result - output - 140PS - 6,750rpm - 170NM torque - 4,250rpm, if compared to 120PS plus 152NM for the basic engine. Result: acceleration time 0-60mph - reduced to 7.9 seconds that's from the basic engine’s 9.9 seconds.

Mountune Performance developed with Ford Team RS, the upgrade wrap will be available only at selected specialist dealers for Ford in Britain this year from March. The upgrades has a minimum of 1 year/12,000-mile warranty dealer and it's not affecting the original auto warranty.
