Tesla shows off its Model S 2010

Tesla just gave the complete unveil on the Model S – all-electric. The first sedan of the company will begin at 57,400 Dollars but that's reduced to 49,900 Dollars after applying a $7,500 federal tax credit.

Tesla is promotes this like a family auto, and this is not so hard to believe seeing the 7 seating area. This sedan presents normal seating up for 5 full adults; also takes a page right from that old station wagons plus presents a child-size wrap of facing seats reward.

Just like all the domestic carmakers out there, the Model S by Tesla comes now with a options list. The standard auto comes with a battery pack (lithium-ion) good for 160 miles, also battery packs for 230 plus 300 miles. The standard Model S unit will do 0-60 mph run in less than 6 seconds, plus a optional sport variant should shave around a second that time. All vehicles will be limited electronically to a 130 mph maximum speed. 'Model S doesn’t compromise on performance, efficiency or utility — it’s truly the only car you need' said Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, Chairman, Product Architect. 'Tesla is relentlessly driving down the cost of electric vehicle technology, and this is just the first of many mainstream cars we’re developing'.

Tesla affirms the Model S unit can be charged on any 440V, 110V or 220V outlet. While this 440V takes a 45 minutes (convenient) for a complete charge, you're going to be a bit displeased about devoting a space in your homes exclusively for the all-new electrical mode required for the service of 440V . 'Model S costs half as much as a Roadster, and it’s a better value than much cheaper cars' said Musk. 'The ownership cost of Model S, if you were to lease and then account for the much lower cost of electricity vs. gasoline at a likely future cost of $4 per gallon, is similar to a gasoline car with a sticker price of about $35,000. I’m positive this car will be the preferred choice of savvy consumers'.
