Ford announces some changes atop the inside global team of design

Following the Stephen Mattin departure as Volvo head in design, Ford announced a global leadership design restructuring. So, Peter Horbury will be taking over for vice president - Volvo design - Mattin, with Moray Callum that was set for taking over Horbury’s last post as Ford Americas design executive director.

Horbury is very close to Volvo apparently, as he appointed in 1991 the brand name's design director. The first design of Horbury went in production as the C70 1997, followed by the S80 1998. The design elements brought by Horbury were apparent also in Volvo’s V40, S40, S60, C30, XC90, V70 and the 2nd gen of C70 plus S80 units.

Moray Callum, the bro of Jaguar amazing designer Ian Callum, spent time on the design studios of Ford in Europe and the Americas, but is noted most for his Mazda time. Callum's credited for: Mazda3 2003, MX-5 2005, Mazda5 2006, CX-7 2007 and the CX-9 CUVs plus the Mazda6 2008. The newest work of Callum includes the Ford Taurus 2010, Fusion, Mercury Milan and Mustang. Both will be taking over their positions on 1st of May.
