With the P11 sports auto expected to debut some time in 2010, McLaren - British performance vehicle maker isn't wasting the time, it moves right ahead with another all-new unit development. According to a brand new report, this carmaker is now in the early developing stages, making a successor for the popular F1.

While P11 expected to compete rival the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 and Ferrari F450, there remains lot of space in the higher-end area for an exotic, exciting new unit. 'We have just started looking at doing another F1. It is a clean sheet design' a source reported to Autocar. The British magazine describes this insider as being a 'high-ranking official with intimate knowledge of the company’s secret business plan'.

With Mercedes-Benz production SLR McLaren now winds down, P11 is coming just in time, keeping the storied badge high, in the eye of the public. As for that brand new F1, it's years away we think. It's expected to compete the likes of Koenigsegg CCX and Bugatti Veyron. 'The P11 is just the beginning' the insider said. 'There will be other models in the longer term'.
