Tesla Model S got 520 orders just in the first week

Last week Model S by Tesla just had its debut, and the firm is reporting already 520 reservations, all for this sedan, all-electric unit. It can keep up hopefully with production orders when the sedan will appear in 2010. So, Tesla produced 320 of those 1,100+ Roadster orders since the production started about one year ago.

Tesla debuted the auto in 26th of March and the orders began streaming in immediately online and in California at the showrooms. Tesla is planning to open some stores this year in London, Chicago, Miami, New York, Seattle, Munich and Washington, D.C. 'Frankly the number of cars reserved in the first week has exceeded our optimistic internal projections' said Elon Musk Tesla CEO, Chairman and Product Architect. 'Enthusiasm surrounding the Model S is proof that there’s pent-up demand for more affordable, fuel-efficient vehicles - including those made in America'.

Tesla delivered around 320 Roadsters by now. The base cost of the Roadster is 101,500 Dollars after a 7,500 Dollars federal tax credit. 'Tesla is relentlessly driving down the cost of battery technology - similar to what other technology companies did to make cellular phones and laptop computers low-cost commodities' said Musk.
