Details on Kia Forte Koup 2010

Kia showed off at the New York Auto Show last year... the Koup, that had obvious links of design to the Forte unit but it was still quite good to make our 2009 top 10 concept autos. This week Kia was back in NY showing off the production Forte Koup version, and we're excited to report it has not modified much from that concept unit.

The car idea is simple: a coupe sleeker look for the Forte sharp sedan model. That means also this engine lineup would not change much from the sedan. Koup will have either a 2.0-liter 156 hp or 2.4-liter 173 hp 4-cylinder engine. So, both engines are fitted to either a 6-speed manual or a 5-speed auto transmission. 'On the heel of the introductions of the Soul and Forte sedan, Forte Koup represents the next exciting step in the transformation of Kia design and offers a blend of sporty and emotional appeal' affirmed Michael Sprague, the vice president, marketing, KMA. 'We believe our new design evolution coupled with standard Kia value and safety features will continue to attract customers to the Kia brand'.

What makes this auto so special? Kia hasn't released the Forte Koup pricing, but it will find itself in line with the rest of the budget-minded lineup of Kia. This means a vehicle with a better look than Honda Civic coupe with lots of money left. The after-market will have a field day entertaining this model.
