The Range Rover Sport gets a 2010 makeover. Land Rover touches the Range Rover evergreen, so... it's gonna get very wild (in a British way) for Range Rover Sport.
Outside its lines this beast have been smoothed in, and its front has a protruding bumper. The front features also brand new LED headlamps plus a new 2-bar grille. Its interior has been redesigned also having materials of higher quality and nice finishes, soft-touch. 'The Range Rover Sport’s performance, ride and handling have been transformed with the introduction of new engines, transmission and chassis systems. Combine these enhancements with the contemporary style and luxury of the revised interior, and it’s clear that the Range Rover Sport remains the only choice as the quintessential SUV sports tourer' affirms Phil Popham, the Land Rover Managing Director.
Like the Range Rover 2010, Jaguar’s V8 5.0-liter is making a brand new home inside the SUV. And the Sport is getting the same 375 hp, 510 hp supercharged modification as the big brother. This' a 75 hp plus 120 hp upgrade on the lineup. This naturally aspired variant makes the zero to sixty mph sprint run in only 7.2 seconds, and its supercharged variant in 5.9 seconds. 'The Range Rover Sport has generated a passionate following among customers who require the performance and refinement of a true sports tourer, but who value the formidable off-road ability of a Land Rover. Now that we have widened its range of capabilities even further, the following for the Range Rover Sport looks set to grow stronger still' Phil Popham says.
'Both the new LR-V8 engines are suited to the sporting character of the Range Rover Sport, providing generous low-end torque and spirited performance along with levels of refinement worthy of the Range Rover name' states Phil Hodgkinson, the Product Development Director.
'We have given the Range Rover Sport two truly state-of-the-art new powertrains. Each engine – whether supercharged or naturally aspirated – delivers outstanding performance and refinement' Ron Lee, the Group Chief Engineer, Powertrain.
'We have given the Range Rover Sport a cleaner, more muscular appearance which is the perfect complement to its new range of high performance engines. Striking new signature LED headlamps, a two-bar grille and a larger air intake create a bold new frontal graphic which helps to reinforce the vehicle’s athletic stance' Gerry McGovern, the Design director.
'The 2010 Range Rover Sport features a host of new technologies that will really enhance the driving and ownership experience for our customers. But in each case the complexity is hidden from view – we’ve made every system intuitive and simple to use' Stuart Frith, the Chief Program Engineer.
