GM affirms it will recall voluntarily nearly 1.5 million Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Chevrolet vehicles 1997 to 2003 equipped with the carmaker's then-venerable 'Series II' 3.8-liter V6 engine over a spark plug faulty wire retainer, allowing oil to leak in the exhaust manifold, this during hard braking, potentially creating a fire.
The carmaker will recall almost all 1,497,516 Monte Carlos and Impalas, Chevrolet Luminas, Buick Regals, Pontiac Grand Prixs and Oldsmobile Intrigues equipped with the L36 V6 naturally aspirated.
If 1 of these cars resides in the garage, General Motors recommends contacting the local dealership, confirming that your auto is covered, this given the recall breadth. Subscribe to Car news by Email |
