Nissan offering in Japan the Infiniti EX like Skyline Crossover

The Skyline storied nameplate of Nissan started out its life as a 5-door wagon – between some other styles of body – and it appears as the franchise will go back to the roots. On Thursday Nissan unveiled that it will market Infiniti EX like the Skyline Crossover on the market in Japan.

Even though the press release of Nissan was short in details, it looks as if JDM Skyline Crossover unit will be an almost perfect Infiniti EX37 carbon copy offered on the European territory. That means the famed V6 3.7L VQ from Nissan will be under its hood – tuned to around 300 horsepower – having the Skyline Crossover car using Nissan's all-new 7-speed gearbox. This Skyline Crossover's slated to reach this summer the market in Japan.

Nissan split its GT-R and Skyline nameplates years ago in Japan, with Infiniti G coupe plus sedan sold right here and carrying in Japan even since 2001 its Skyline banner. You might recall also that Nissan newly canceled all its plans involving the 4-door variant offer of the GT-R right under the brand of Infiniti.
