Chrysler reveals electric fleet-intent minivan

Chrysler just revealed an all-electric variant of its minivan Town and Country in Washington, D.C. celebrating Earth Day. This electric minivan unit – that represents the ENVI department’s 1st EV of Chrysler intended for production of the fleet – was created in the American Postal Service conjunction.

The ENVI division of Chrysler is tasked on developing the carmaker’s greenest cars, and already has made 5 prototypes. 4 of those autos have been area-extending electric cars – in the same place as the next Chevrolet Volt – having only 1, Europa-based, the Lotus Dodge Circuit, being a veritable electric car.

Although the USPS and Chrysler haven't made the contract official for the EV minivan use, Chrysler is working now to secure the federal funding, supporting electric auto fleet programs. Ford already has committed, it offers an electric Transit Connect version, so the electrified minivan unit from Chrysler seems to really make sense. So, Chrysler didn't mention the EV minivan’s area, but did unveil its batteries were made by A123Systems – product EV, battery partner of Chrysler.
