UAW is ratifying the Chrysler concessions

The United Auto Workers last night ratified the Chrysler settlement deal by 94 percent vote. This agreement means Chrysler has met all the concessions requirement of the set forth by the administration's car industry team of Obama earlier in 2009 and that the carmaker cleared yet another hurdle necessary for making its Fiat alliance.

UAW says 82 % of production employees and 80 % of skilled-trades employees voted at the locations of UAW-Chrysler via U.S. Despite the leaders of UAW making a Chrysler agreement, the vote was necessary still for ratifying the deal. The Canadian Auto Workers, earlier this week, approved some similar concessions, to pave the way for UAW.

Chrysler unleashed a statement, late last night, attributed to Tom LaSorda - firm President and Vice Chairman: 'We are thankful to the Chrysler UAW members for their support in ratifying this contract, especially during these challenging times. This was a necessary step as we move forward in revitalizing this great Company. Today’s vote enables us to continue our work to meet the conditions laid out by the U. S. Treasury Department's.
