Fiat CEO is confirming the interest in Opel

Fiat denied the interest in GM' Opel brand name for the past few
weeks, but the carmaker from Italy has fessed up finally to its own interest in the German brand of GM. A German first revealed officially the interest of Fiat in Opel, but Sergio Marchionne Fiat CEO has confirmed officially Fiat is now pursuing the majority slice in Opel.

Marchionne unveiled to La Stampa - Italian newspaper... now Fiat is in talks with GM about the Opel acquisition. Marchionne called Opel the 'perfect partner' at the moment for Fiat. It not clear just what Fiat percentage is wanted, but GM would remain on as the minority Opel stakeholder. Whatever, GM will be separating the href=""

Fritz Henderson GM CEO unveiled 6 suitors are interested in Opel
currently, but the Fiat brand could really be the frontrunner. GM
prefers the Opel sale to one entity, making there a joint sale to
Magna in Canada and Oleg Deripaska (Russia) seem unlikely. The plans of GM is keeping open the Opel talks until the month ends at least, with an announcement officially early next month likely.
