Nissan made the announcement of thier new GT-R record in Nurburgring

If the Porsche executives became flustered immediately when Nissan made the announcement of the last record GT-R Nurburgring, they should be ready now for a frustration explosion. Nissan set, back in April, one lap record just around the Green Hell 12.9 mile of 7 min, 27 sec in their GT-R unit equipped with a SpecV rims set. Godzilla negotiated this time the 33 left plus 40 right turns 'Ring in just 7 min, 26 seconds.

Previous GT-Rs by Nissan have recorded 7 min 27 sec lap times on April 15, this year, 7 min 29 sec in April, last year and 7 min 38 sec back in 2007, in September.

Kazutoshi Mizuno, the Chief Vehicle Engineer, Chief Vehicle Specialist on GT-R said: 'This record demonstrates our commitment to the continuous evolution of the Nissan GT-R. We would like to continue delivering the passion and pride of ownership to our customers by improving its performance every year'.
