The production of Volkswagen Bluesport is on hold

There are bad news for the upcoming Porsche 914 and Bluesport from Volkswagen fans; it shouldn't be a surprise, but it still feel like a let down. Since Porsche made the announcement that there'll be no entry level new offering in its line-up, VW announced also that due to the present situation (economically), their diesel burning, open air BlueSport unit has been put therefor on hold.

VW didn't close the concept, stating that there's a chance still for a production unit, but this... only after the people goes back and buys autos. So, for the fans of Volkswagen the great news is that the carmaker from Germany will offer a roadster eventually. The question is this: when?

The BlueSport Concept by VW runs with a 2.0 Liter mid-mounted TDI having injection engine (common rail) making 177 HP. Volkswagen says this diesel convertible (clean) can go from zero to sixty MPH in only 6.6 seconds featuring 140 MPH maximum speed, returning 55 MPG. This sounds fun, both are at the pump and behind the wheel.
