Nissan is recalling 362,891 Murano SUV units

Nissan and the National Highways Traffic Safety Administration have announced the 362,891 cars recall of the sport utility Nissan Murano. This recall — the reason being a defective air intake — is covering all Nissan Murano units made between 2003 - 2007.

The NHTSA’s site says the recall is because of a faulty intake duct of air. The air intake duct which connected to the intermediate resonator of the vehicle could become disconnected and loose. If a disconnection happens, the car could stall, increasing probability of an accident.

This defect is linked to the air duct material which could be causing excessive shrinking. The dealers at Nissan will be inspecting and replacing the defect piece at no cost for the clients. No specific info has been pin down for the recall beginning, but the NHTSA affirms it will start on or even before the 6th of July.
