Ford Capri will be back up and running in 2010

There are some hot hatch units these days on the market in Europe. VW has the all-new Scirocco model, Renault has revealed Megane Coupe (new) and Opel has its Astra; what about Ford?

The firm plans on bringing back the nameplate Capri in a splashy way. The carmaker will show a concept this September to the Frankfurt Motor Show and is planning a production variant for 2010. The upcoming Capri by Ford will be very much inspired by the concept Iosis Max that was revealed in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The Capri production however, will have a sleeker LED pair of headlamps contouring the more aggressive end in front.

Under hood Ford uses 1 of their brand turbocharged new EcoBoost power factories. Like the 4 cylinder 1.6 Liter making from 148 HP up to 178 HP, or its displacing of the TDCi diesel having the same amount producing 128 HP and the 2.0 Liter even 4 having 168 HP or up on 197 HP. However, the line Capri's top will run with 200 HP EcoBoost 4 cylinder 2.0 Liter.
