Mercedes shows off its amazing ESF Concept Vehicle

The Mercedes Benz – the German carmaker will reveal a new car next week, called the ESF Concept 2009 - the auto is based on the Hybrid S400. This concept - passenger friendly is fitted with some never seen before safety features, innovative, like the inflatable brake inside the car. If a crush happen, the auto inflates to make excess friction, slowing down the car much faster. The concept will feature also additional items, for example: airbags integrated in the rear and front seatbelts.

'Safety is a central element of the Mercedes-Benz brand. In this respect we have been setting the pace in the market for almost 70 years. For the benefit of our customers and for road users in general. The ESF 2009 shows that we still have plenty of ideas and the absolute will, to lead the automobile industry in this field even in future' affirms Dr. Dieter Zetsche, the Chairman of Daimler AG, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

The ESF 2009 unit was created and made fully in the test car work-shops, located in Sindelfingen. The safety research auto based on the S 400 HYBRID Mercedes has many safety innovations, plus most of them are completely working in the demonstration mode. 'With the ESF 2009, we have chosen this particular time to clearly demonstrate the innovative strength of Daimler. Anybody examining the ESF 2009 in detail will recognize that more safety and improved energy efficiency are not necessarily a contradiction in terms.
