New factory spy shots of the Alfa Romeo Milano

Even tough it is hard to believe, a new set of pictures taken right inside Alfa Romeo`s plant showing the all-new Milano model have hit the web. These two new images arrive only a few weeks after a first batch of photos of the 147 replacement were posted on Facebook. Milano, Alfa Romeo`s all new model, takes some of its styling cues from the MiTo hatchback and the 8C Competizione, which is not bad at all if you come to think of it. The replacement of the 147 model is expected to hit the markets towards the end of this year or during the first months of 2010.

The first Fiat Group model to use the Italian automaker`s new C-Evo platform, the Milano, will target the premium hatchback segment being thus obliged to compete with models like the BMW 1-Series or the Audi A3.

As you might be fooled into thinking, the Milano is not a three-door hatchback, but a five-door hatchback, with hidden rear-door handles for a more sporty and elegant look. The new Alfa Romeo hatchback will be offered with a variety of engine options, including a 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter turbo diesels as well as a 1.4 liter and 1.75 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines.
