The 2010 Saab 9-5 has been unveiled yesterday in the form of a lot of photos that were leaked online, photos that, from what it seems, were made directly by the people working for Saab . The 9-5 has a completely new design, with features like LED taillights, new headlights, restyled front fascia, grille and reshaped front bumper amongst others. The car will be presented to the public at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.
Moving on inside of the car, we can see a whole lot of features, including a new steering wheel, bolstered seats, a console-mounted ignition and black trim. According to several sources, there will be quite a lot of optional features, including an 8-inch navigation system made by Panasonic, an entertainment system for the rear passengers, a Harman Kardon audio system, keyless entry and bi-xenon headlights.
The brand new Saab 9-5 will come with a revised rear in similar style to a coupe, with a few elements of styling to be positioned from the Swedish concept 9-4x BioPower . More than that, the new 9-5 will be longer, heavier and taller in comparison to the current model. Also, the wheelbase of the new model will be increased by about 14 centimeters.
Power for the new 9-5 will be supplied by a range of three turbocharged petrol engines: a four-cylinder 1.6 liter engine that develops 160 HP, a four-cylinder 2.0 liter engine that has an output of 201 HP and a V6 2.8 liter engine that develops 300 HP. This range of engines will be joined by diesel engines, more precisely a 2.0 liter diesel unit that will have an output of either 160 horsepower or 190 horsepower.
The 2010 Saab 9-5 is expected to hit the streets of Europe by April next year with a price level of about 35.000 euros.
