Lately, a lot of automakers are making desperate attempts to reinvent themselves to make more and more money. Porsche, a legendary sports car maker has launched some time ago a sports utility vehicle called Cayenne. They also launched recently a weird looking luxurious car named Panamera. The British automaker Aston Martin seems to be making at least partially the same steps as Porsche. The engineers working for Aston Martin have developed a car named Rapide that will be a direct competitor for the Porsche Panamera . Until now there have been some photos showing the exterior of the car, but today we have a series of photos from which we can see some of the interior too. From what it seems the main material used for the interior elements of the car is Alcantara.
Rapide , Aston Martin`s latest creation, will surely offer more than enough room for no less than four people. The car has two individual back seats that are separated by a rear console. The rear console is found on the Panamera too, giving access to quite a few of the functions of the car like the electric windows and the climate controls. Obviously, LCD screens could not miss out of such an expensive luxurious car. They are integrated in the front seats so that the passengers sitting in the back watch a movie until they reach their destination.
Mister Ulrich Bez, chief executive of Aston Martin, stated that ``The Rapide will be the most elegant four-door sports car in the world. It completes the Aston Martin range conveying our established attributes of Power, Beauty and Soul``. He continued by saying that ``In 2010 there will be an Aston Martin for every type of sports car customer regardless of the demands of their lifestyle. The Rapide is the most versatile, bringing a new benchmark of luxury and refinement to both driver and passenger``.
Aston Martin Rapide will get its power from a V12 6.0 liter engine that has an output of 470 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The engine will be linked to a Touchtronic gearbox that has the role to improve the overall engine performance and the comfort of driving. According to a representative of Aston Martin, the British super car Rapide will have a price ``in the low to mid 400.000 dollars``.
