Ford Focus RS does a great time on the Nurburgring

A couple of months ago, the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit was in the center of attention. Not because that it was renewed or something like that, but because of the fierce duels that were given by Porsche and Nissan. The Nurburgring circuit was the battleground of a fierce duel between the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911. The Nissan started the duel after they defeated the Porsche 911`s time on their home circuit. Obviously, the German automaker could not accept to be beaten at home, so they replicated with an even better time. The record-braking times continued for quite a while and I am not sure that many of you actually know who had the last word in the battle. Now, the American automaker Ford has done some test on the Nurburgring Nordschelife circuit. You might wonder what`s the big deal with this German circuit. Well, we must let you know that the Nurburgring Nordschleife track is one of the most difficult ones in the world, being a challenge for every aspect of a car, including the acceleration, the handling, and the braking and so on.

The fastest European production model of Ford, the new Focus RS, has been driven by the well known Nurburgring racer and chief editor of a important German auto magazine, mister Horst von Saurma-Jeltsch, around a couple of test laps on the German circuit. The new Ford Focus RS has managed to achieve a time of eight minutes and 26 seconds. This is not a bad time around the thirteen mile long track. In comparison to the former Focus RS that had only 225 horsepower, the new Focus RS managed to achieve a better time by almost half a minute, more precisely 25 seconds. The new Ford Focus RS comes with a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine that has an output 300 HP. The engine is linked to a manual gearbox with six speeds. The new Focus RS comes with a front wheel drive. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes place in 6.9 seconds while being able to achieve a maximum speed of 263 km/h. There also is an alternative –cut video launched by Ford that is 10 minutes long.
