2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback coming to Frankfurt

The completely new 2010 Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback have already hit the North American and Japanese markets. Now, the Japanese automaker Subaru is preparing the world debut of these two models on the European market. The debut of the 2010 Subaru Outback and Subaru Legacy for the European market is set to take place in Frankfurt during the Frankfurt Auto Show. The Frankfurt Auto Show will take place between the 17th and 27th of September. The European market version of the 2010 Subaru Legacy and Subaru Outback will receive in comparison to the American market version larger exterior mirrors that will accommodate the turning signals, a restyled front grill and a redesigned lower part of the front bumper.

Both the Sedan and the Station Wagon versions of the 2010 Subaru Legacy are longer in comparison to the previous model by 65 respectively 55 millimeters. The wheelbase is also longer by 80 millimeters at both versions in comparison to the previous model. The result of the longer wheelbase is that the passengers have more room for the legs. The power for the European version of the Legacy will be offered by a range of both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines that will be fitted in the Legacy are a 2.0 liter and 2.5 liter one. For the diesel range Subaru offers only one engine for the new Legacy, a 2.0 liter turbo diesel that has an output of 150 HP.

The 2010 Subaru Outback will be the fourth generation of a legendary car. Basically the Outback is just a crossover version of the Subaru Legacy SW with a better ground clearance and protective body cladding in the SUV style. The new generation of the Outback will be offered with a 2.5 liter four cylinder petrol engine and a 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine. Some of the more fortunate markets will receive an optional more powerful engine, more precisely a 3.6 liter six cylinder petrol engine.
