First on-road picture of the Ferrari 458 Italia

A couple of weeks ago, the Ferrari 458 Italia was officially revealed by the Italian automaker and it made a lot of waves in the press. Now, we have here the first photo of a prototype 458 Italia that was spotted while doing some tests. The prototype of the 458 Italia that was seen here doing tests is finished with a contrast of black and white in order to mask most of the design lines before of the public debut. Unfortunately, the place where this photo was taken is unknown, but from what it seems the car was somewhere in the countryside.

The Ferrari F430 will be replaced by the new Ferrari 458 Italia. From the details that have been made available until now it seems that the Ferrari 458 Italia will have a a naturally aspired V8 4.5 liter engine that has an output of 570 horsepower and a maximum of 540 Nm. The engine will be linked to a seven speed double clutch transmission. With the help of the engine and the transmission, the car will be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and will be able to achieve a maximum speed of 325 km/h.

The 458 Italia will have features like a rear diffuser for downforce and small aero elastic winglets. The car weighs no more than 1380 kilograms when empty. The weight is distributed 42/58 percent on the front and rear. Also, improved version of the E-Diff and F1-Trac systems give the car an increase of thirty two percent in longitudinal acceleration which is meant to reduce drag when coupled. Thanks to these features, the Ferrari 458 Italia will have exceptional handling.

Frankfurt will be the stage of the public debut of the Ferrari 458 Italia in September.
