Facelifted Kia Cee`d revealed

The South Korean automaker Kia has officially revealed the new version of the Cee`d. The new Kia Cee`d will make its public debut in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The production of the new Cee`d will start at a short period of time after the public debut.

Peter Schreyer, the South Korean automaker`s chief of design was the person who was responsible of giving a more modern styling to the Cee`d model. The new Kia Cee`d actually looks good, being an evolution of the previous model. The look of the new car is quite clearly destined for the European market. Some people might say that the triangular side windows at the back of the wagon version were inspired from Peugeot or that the face of the car was inspired from the front part of the Ford Fiesta, but no one can say that the new Kia Cee`d looks bad. The new Cee`d is quite clearly an improvement in terms of design.

The new Kia Cee`d also has a couple of technological improvements. The main features from a technological point of view are a new suspension along with a start/stop system that has an ecological role. The new Kia Cee`d has gained some length in comparison to the former model, being 25 millimeters longer. The engineers over at Kia made promises of a heavily upgraded interior design and equipment specs. Still, it is important to renember that the new Cee`d is not considered a next generation model but only a facelift.

The engine lineup of the new Kia Cee`d will include a 1.6 liter diesel engine that has a fuel saving technology called ISG that will be linked to a new six speed manual gearbox. Some other new features of the Cee`d are the projection headlights and the hill holder function for the ESP system.
