A famous Latin quote says that ``De gustibus non est disputandum``. I agree with this Latin saying. Still, some things are too obvious to not notice or discuss. Mercedes was a visionary. A visionary of ugliness if you ask me. In 2004 the German automaker launched the Mercedes CLS , a completely new type of car that can be best described as a four door coupe sports sedan. Sounds like hell, I know. All of the other automakers looked skeptically at the new creation of Mercedes. But, time proved that Mercedes had placed a smart bet with the CLS. The sales of the Mercedes CLS were going sky high, thanks to the parvenus and snobs. The car was selling like crazy in the rich people world, especially because it had practically no competitor. The truth is that the Mercedes CLS is ugly, to say the least, but it had a real success. Seeing the success of the CLS, other automakers started developing their very own versions of the CLS. A couple of years later we wake up to see that Porsche has released the Panamera, a car that has an incredibly comfortable interior and a fabulous engine but looks just hideous. BMW has launched the 5-Series GT, making it no less than three 5-Series versions. Aston Marin Rapide will be launched shortly. Now, Bugatti is reportedly working on a car that will compete in the segment that was dominated until recently by Mercedes CLS.
The car will be named Bugatti Bordeaux and is apparently set to hit the market in 2013. Here we have a couple of images made by an artist. The artist images the car looking very much like the Veyron and having two sets of quad exhaust pipes. Rumors have it that the concept version of the car will make its public debut in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show and will get its power from a W16 quad turbo 8.0 liter engine that will have an output of 985 horsepower and 1250 Nm of torque.
