Michael Schumacher will not return to Formula 1

When Ferrari announced that Michael Schumacher will start training and will be back as a Formula 1 driver for the Spanish Grand Prix to replace Felipe Massa, who had a terrible incident in Hungary, a lot of Formula 1 fans were overjoyed. Unfortunately, this news will make them quite sad. Michael Schumacher has cancelled his coming back to Formula 1. The announcement was made on the German driver`s official website. Schumacher released an official statement in which he explained that his decision has a medical background, saying that the neck injury he suffered in February when he fell of a bike has left some severe consequences.

I am sure that many people will be surprised and sad about this news, because no one expected the seven times world champion to have medical problems that would not allow him to come back to the world of Formula 1. Michael Schumacher personally told the bad news to the president of Ferrari, Mister Luca di Montezemolo and to the team principal, Mister Stefano Domenicali.

It seems that the neck and head injury sustained in February has left some severe effects to Schumacher`s head and neck because he says that the fractures in that area is too severe to endure in the stressful conditions of Formula 1.

Michael Schumacher stated that ``I really tried everything to make that temporary comeback possible, however, much to my regret it didn`t work out. Unfortunately, we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello, even if medically or therapeutically we tried everything possible``.

He continued by saying that ``I am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me. I can only repeat that I tried everything that was within my power. All I can do now is to keep my fingers crossed for the whole team for the coming races``.
