12th of August 2009 UK’s WYF&RS (West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service) has added recently 28 Citroen Berlingo models, all-new. First vans helping authorities with building their fire safety community programs.
The vans Berlingo will be adding up to its other 62 Citroens in the powerful WYF&RS 420 car fleet. 'We have a good experience with Citroens. The Berlingo First van has proved to be reliable, versatile and good value, which is important when you are spending tax payers’ money' said the WYF&RS’ Fleet Controller - Mike Walker.
Having vinyl graphics, half-wrap, the vans Berlingo First’ livery show what great fire prevention service WYF&RS is offering. The livery pictures have a fire safety message, an arson alert message and a road safety message - showing some burnt-out vehicle on an estate. 'We have a wide range of initiatives aimed at promoting a safe environment from fires. The Berlingo Firsts will be used to deliver this fire prevention message, whether installing fire alarms, explaining arson prevention or attending local fetes and galas' continued Mr Walker.
The Berlingo - a leisure activity car plus a cargo van made on the same platform like the Peugeot Partner, its stable-mate. Its debut was in 1996 and an upgraded variant featuring a changed inside and front end unveiled in 2003.
Berlingo - first generation proved to be most successful Citroen van ever. Its older variants badged now Berlingo First. This van can be found in 2 engine configurations: 75hp petrol engine 1.4i Euro 4 and Euro 4 75hp 1.6HDi diesel, the latter can run on up to thirty % bio diesel with no change.
