2011 Kia Sorento will be built in the USA

The South Korean automaker Kia has announced today that the new 2011 Sorento crossover utility vehicle will be built at their first plant in the USA that is located in West Point, Georgia. Thanks to this, the 2011 Kia Sorento will be the first car of the South Korean company that will be built in the United States of America. The new Kia Sorento has already has been presented already in the South Korea. Towards the end of this year Kia has scheduled that the new Sorento will hit the market.

Mister Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing at Kia Motors America, has stated that ``It will be a historic milestone when the first Sorento rolls off the assembly line at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia later this year``. He continued by saying that ``Our first domestically built vehicle, the all-new Sorento will be built by the team members who have undergone rigorous training and who have great pride in their newly learned skills`.

The new Kia Sorento will be able to accommodate up to seven people. Also, the new CUV has a unibody design, in comparison to the previous model`s body-on-frame setup.

I think that Kia is an automaker that will take an even bigger piece of the market in the years to come. After the success they had and still have with the Cee`d model, Kia has gained a lot of confidence from the perspective buyers. The new Kia Sorento looks like a really solid, well built car and I am quite sure that it will be a success in terms of sales for the South Korean automaker.
